What stays on your device

Your library is stored locally in the browser, in IndexedDB and extension storage. It never syncs anywhere. It holds:

• The captures themselves, and their thumbnails.
• Annotations, crops and any chat you have had about a capture.
• The title and address of the page a capture came from, so the library is searchable.
• Your settings, and a cached copy of the lens catalog.
• Your sign-in tokens, if you have signed in.

Captures expire on a schedule you choose in Settings → Storage, and are then deleted from the device automatically. Uninstalling the extension removes all of it.

What leaves your device, and when

Nothing is transmitted by capturing, annotating, cropping, searching or exporting. Those are entirely local operations.

An image is sent to the ScreenFeel service only when you run an AI lens or ask a follow-up question about a capture. That request carries the image (downscaled first, if you have that option on), the lens you picked, the language, and the title, address and dimensions of the page it came from. Automatic naming and tagging is the one lens that can run without a press; turning it off in Settings → AI means nothing at all is sent until you ask for it.

The extension can reach exactly one host, declared in its manifest. It cannot talk to any other server, and it contains no third-party scripts, analytics or trackers.

What happens to an image we receive

It is passed to our inference provider, read for the answer, and returned. The ScreenFeel service does not write the image, the page address, your question or the answer to any database or log. Lenses run on open-weight models under zero data retention: the model host keeps nothing and trains on nothing. Nothing identifying you travels with the request either — the provider sees our operator key, never your account.

A local scanner warns you when a capture appears to contain a key, card number or token before you share it. That check runs on your machine, on text a lens has already read.

What the service does keep

To run accounts and meter usage, the service stores:

• Your email address, plan, credit balance and account timestamps.
• Your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, if you have paid for a plan.
• The IP address and browser user-agent recorded when you start a sign-in, kept for abuse control and deleted within a day of that sign-in link expiring.
• The user-agent attached to an active session, deleted 30 days after that session expires.
• One metering row per lens run: which lens, which tier, which model, tokens, cost, duration and whether it succeeded.

A metering row records that a lens ran, never what it saw. There is no column for an image, a page address, a prompt or an answer, because none of those are kept.

Who else is involved

• Venice AI — runs the models, under zero data retention.
• Stripe — takes payments. Card details go to Stripe directly; ScreenFeel never sees or stores them.
• Mailjet — delivers sign-in links to your email address.
• Vercel and Neon — host the service and its database.

These are processors acting on our instructions. We do not sell your data, share it with data brokers or advertisers, use it to train models, use it for anything unrelated to running ScreenFeel, or use it to assess creditworthiness or lending.

Deleting your data

Everything on your device is yours to clear: delete individual captures in the library, or use Settings → Storage to wipe it, or uninstall the extension.

To delete your account and everything the service holds against it, or to ask for a copy of it, use the support link on the ScreenFeel listing in the Chrome Web Store. Requests are actioned within 30 days.

Children

ScreenFeel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the new version is published here before the change takes effect.

This website

This website counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, builds no profile and follows nobody between sites. It records only aggregate visits and referrers. This applies to the website you are reading now — the extension itself still contains no third-party scripts, analytics or trackers of any kind.
